RE: Rogues -14

Well in my 20 years of being an active member in the OTFL and not playing this season it was a very exciting season to observe on the officiating side.

As I was an active member of the Rogues and the Raiders over my 20 year tender, these teams have come out on top with a couple of ?A? and ?B? Championships under their belt, but don?t count the other squads out as this was a new year..

On October 18th the battles between the 4 remain squads should all be tight games as they are all equally matched on both sides of the line.

Raiders vs Hounds:
The Raiders made some good additions to this years squad and have some talented ballers, this game will come down to their ?D? and being able to take away the Young Hounds QB long ball and the Rub plays, he?s got that tackle ball sense still but is really progressing in the Touch world. Raiders need to catch every ball and the team that makes the less errors will succeed.
I'm taking the Hounds by 2
B Final: Raiders 14 Hounds 16

Rogues vs All Blacks
Of course playing for the Rogues for many years everyone will think I?m taking them to win again but I?m pretty much split down the middle on this battle. The All Blacks will need to keep it simple and really get some points on the board quickly as we know in past finals with the Rogues being down by a couple of scores they always find a way to get back in the game. The key is make Brandon stay in the pocket and watch his hips, All Blacks D needs to play the aggressive card to gain possession for their ?O?. My suggestion whoever wins the coin toss is to take ball first and let the battle begin.
Split decision
A Final: Rogues All Blacks ? O/T

The bottom line is that I wish all finalists in both finals Good Luck, see you in the finals and of course at the Banquet.

Cheers,
Ref Buzz

RE: Rogues -14

Bee Buzz is being to kind, too generous to his former team.
The Rogues are not nearly as strong this year as in the past. Missing the likes of KC, Travis, Delroy and the Glavics, just to mention a few. Quarterback Pottle Jr. is green and had enough to handle with the Renegades, let alone a superior All Blacks defensive squad. Oh ya, you can add Brandon to the missing players list. As good as he is, he can't throw to himself (can he??). Again, Rogues top receiver over the years is not available. Missing players of this caliber would cripple most teams. Gotta give Rogues credit just for managing to be there again. They must be doing something right.

All these factors however will conspire against them when the money's on the table. I see a Dark Shadow A Risin'. This one is over by the 4th quarter. Take a bow Rogues, it was a good run. Time to be swept aside.

All Blacks 24 Rogues 12

RE: Rogues -14

To this guy above me.

So let me get this straight....the superior All Blacks Defense that you talk about gave up what 32 or 33 points against the Rogues last time they met. The Renegades gave up 12 in the playoff game. I watched the game, and saw at least 3 or 4 goal-line stands, and Senior Pottle come into the game because Junior was having trouble (as much trouble as one of the best players in Ontario can have).

How is the All Blacks defense a superior one again?

Also, I took at a look back at the game between the All Blacks and the Renegades. The All Blacks defense allowed more than the Renegades again.

Hmmmmm..........It's okay. Just wanted to see if you were talking real. Guess not.

Rogues will win easy. Sorry All Blackers.

Huh?

RE: Rogues -14

The All Blacks vs. Renegades game was more like the Renegades vs. whoever wasn't away that week. All Blacks had 7 guys, no QB, no defense leader, no centre. If you put stock in that game your an idiot.

Last All Blacks vs. Rogues game was definately a bad game for the QB as more scores were from him throwing interceptions than Rogues offense. From what I remember the defensive leader and their offensive ringer were away that day as well.

Out of curiosity who would be the AB's defensive leader and offensive ringer?

RE: Rogues -14

Let me get something straight the Rogues score 415 points and only give up 49 points all year and they stink on offence and they are all of a sudden are going to give up 20+ points in the finals. If they suck then what does that say for the rest of the teams in the league.

RE: Rogues -14

Dark Shadow A Risin' is obviousy a delusional All Black player who is doing his team a diservice by giving the Rogues additonal fuel to pour on the fire.

What a go bonehead, your teammates must be proud of you,

RE: Rogues -14

-14 Damn big spread for a championship game... I dont even know whose on the All Blacks but if I were a betting man i'd take the points but I think the Rogues win by 7. Brandon when in doubt run the old PC, works evrytime...

Good luck in the championship Rogues, Take down another championship so we can get another trophy and Buzz can put it in his basement in the "Buzz Hall of Fame"!!

RE: Rogues -14

Its people like Huh? that make the old sayin'
'Thats why they play the games' soooo true. You must be in the ego maniac Rogue camp that thinks that they can't be beat, ya right.
All Blacks are due. Sure they had a terrible game vs Rogues last they met. Big deal...
This time is different. A championship is on the line. Its obvious to any observer of the OTFL over the years that the Rogues aren't the same team that has won 3 championships in the last 5 years. Period. Also, any sportsman will tell you that anything can happen under pressure and its my opinion that All Blacks will rule. Rogues may keep it close for a while but as I stated earlier, will be too far behind in the second half to comeback and win. Period. Ok, they may make it interesting...

All Blacks - More
Rogues - Not enough!

Hey Mr. Glavic

I think Buzz might be pulling for the All Blacks in this one. I could be wrong?

Buzz? Sorry to put you on the spot Buzz.
