Week 5 picks

It took longer than I had hoped but I finally got my first perfect week going 5 - 0 last week and bringing my overall record to a very respectable 15-4-2.

Let's see if we can't keep the good times rolling in week 5. With 7 games on tap it'll be a bit more difficult but I have a good feeling.

Starting at Central worked well last week so let's stick with it. (not that I'm superstitious or anything).

Buckeyes v. OPC

Should we be concerned that the Buckeyes haven't won an OTFL game in more than a month and they have been outscored 42 - 0 over that same period? Not really since they have only played one game over the time period and it came against the Rogues. Welcome back guys. A bit of an easier matchup this week against OPC. Look for the Buckeyes to get back in the win column this week.

Raiders v. Cowboys

With the improvement of the Brew Crew and the Manimals the Raiders better come to play in this one as it could be their best chance at a win all season. Ditto for the Cowboys. Will the Raiders experience beat out the Cowboys athleticism? I don't think so. Give me the Cowboys.

Rogues v. Mustangs

If you're not excited for this game then you are not a fan of the OTFL (in which case why the hell are you reading this. Get a life. :)). The Rogues looked very beatable last week as they needed a 2 point conversion to beat the Bulldogs. The Mustangs haven't been tested yet. Smart money says take the Rogues but sometimes you just have to go with your gut which says the Mustangs will take this one. Give me the Mustangs in an upset.

Rogues v. Hawks

Rogues are going to get worn out playing a tough Mustangs team the game before. I won't matter though, They'll still easily beat the fresh Hawks team.

Off to Maxwell Heights

Sharks v. Untouchables

What a great game to start things off. We all know the Sharks are a much better defensive team than they are on offence but I don't think anyone expected they would be able to win a game in which they threw 4 picks. But they did just that last week. Granted it was against an OPC team that didn't have their starting QB. The Untouchables on the other hand are rolling right now winning their last three and only losing in the season opener to a warmed up Buckeyes team. This is definitely a statement game for both these teams and could very well be a "B" championship preview game. Give me the Red Hot Untouchables to win a close one.

Sharks v. Brew Crew

The Brew Crew have looked good this year and the Sharks will be tired with their small roster after a grueling game against the Untouchables. But even with all that said I still have to go with the Sharks in this one. But it'll be closer than a lot of people think.

Manimals v. Bulldogs

Two teams that are playing well above expectations this season. But as the Bulldogs are playing above higher preseason expectations than the Manimals it stands to reason that they are the better team. Therefore give me the Bulldogs in this one.

Weekly picks contest -> Rogues over Hawks, Bulldogs, Sharks over Brew Crew, Buckeyes

Well there are a picks. A few tough games this week but I'm still pretty sure I've got another perfect week here. As always feel free to give me your thoughts.
