The THANKS portion...

Thank you once again to everyone who joined us for our year end Banquet...

Thanks to our sponsor, the Bulldog Pub, for hosting the event and preparing a delicious spread

Thanks to the Team Reps for doing all that you do from way before the start of the season, during the season, and for some - after the season.

Thanks to Kevin Dawkins for handling the scheduling of all the refs for all the games at all the fields, and to the refs for doing a great job (even though some calls are questionable)

Thanks to the Executive for another successful year, especially Scott Elkington (President) who, because he owns the microphone, doesn't get the formal thanks the rest of us get at the banquet.

Hopefully see you all back for 2014

Kelly - on behalf of the executives.

RE: Banquet Wrap up

Oh... I cant believe i forgot to thank these select few...

The ones who left me and scott, personally, to cover these walk-out charges from our pockets.

1 Bloody Caeser
1 7up
1 Baileys
1 Diet Coke
2 Pepsis
1 Pint of Bud Light
1 Sol
1 Pint Stella

a total of $45.85

I am actually pretty disgusted with this... many hours are dedicated to this league, unpaid. I do this, partly because im an idiot, and the other part to help scott with the workload.

To be left with a tab for drinks we did not order, at a banquet that we work hard to get a sponsor for to help subsidize League fees and keep your league fees unchanged for xx years, arrange FREE food & FREE beer is an insult.

I can think of a million better things to spend our own money on, than this... to me, it is a slap in the face saying "I don't give a shit"... and whether you intended for it to be paid out of pocket by me & scott, or the pub to absorb the costs, is just rude.
I do give the servers credit though, they sure can give good descriptions of who ordered what - regardless of a packed house.

I will listen to Scott and hope that this was an honest mistake by those who ordered these drinks and left without paying their tab... if this is the case, then please contact him at scott@oshawafootball.com to claim your beverages and make arrangements to settle your bill.

The day of the banquet is extremely busy for the executive. The door is often difficult to monitor, with large groups all arriving at once. We would like to think that those in our OTFL family would be honest with us, and announce when they have family or ineligible players with them, instead of sneaking them in when we are busy with others. This banquet, as said many times before, is to appreciate those who come out week after week and play... We encourage family to come, and this is why we offer them the opportunity to purchase tickets as well (without reimbursement - $10 is a great deal for a buffet). Being this extended opportunity was abused this year, we may reconsider allowing family at all for next year. Unfortunately, a few bad apples spoil it for the bunch.

I hate ending the season with a bad taste in my mouth... so i will finish off with this...
Thank you for accepting me for the 5 years I have been in the Executive. I foresee a lot of minor changes to how things will be managed next year - all in response to the trials and tribulations of the past few seasons of learning experiences. This will make for a stronger, better, fairer OTFL.... see you all in 2014.

RE: Banquet Wrap up

Thanks to all who executed a great banquet again this year. The only problem was that the Bulldog Pub cannot accomadate the amount of people that showed up this year. There was alot of people who had to stand or squish into tables,
maybe you can look into having the banquet at a bigger venue. Just saying.....

RE: Banquet Wrap up

I owe you for the Caesar. I settled my bill with the waitress for my Burger (allergic to chicken)and pitchers of Keith's and forgot about Marie's drink. Didn't realize until we were already home.
