RE: Revised Playoff Format

Shouldn't 1st in B play 5th in A, it says 4th.

RE: Revised Playoff Format

What it says is correct. One of the "A" teams will not be participating in the playoff tournament due to unpaid forfeit fees. This has been communicated to the team reps potentially impacted by the change.

Thanks,

Scott

RE: Revised Playoff Format

Just to ensure that no untrue rumours sprout out of this thread. The Steelers did pay their league fees in full. They were removed from the schedule and the playoffs due to unpaid forfeit fees. Discussions occurred between the league and the Steelers Team rep and both sides agreed this was the best course of action to take at this time. I just felt that should be clarified.

Thanks,

Scott

RE: Revised Playoff Format

Scott,

I have always admired and respected your professionalism on and off the field which is again evident with this diplomatic explanation of the demise of the Steelers.

The key word used in your explanation is "fees" which is important when you look at the big picture here. The fact remains that they were shown the door due to these fees being unpaid, whether they be league or forfeit is irrelevant.

Let's not lose sight of the fact that Bye's track record and reputation is well know by all those who follow not only this league. The fact that this effects not only his teammates but also the league as a whole.

I'm proposing that the league consider suspensions (1 year) for default of payments and hopefully this sends a message repeat offenders.

RE: Revised Playoff Format

Thank you for your kind words. I do understand what you are saying here. However if a team pays in full before the fees are due they should be entitled to play. I do realise in Dave's case there was some historic issues but although he was a key member of the team in the case I'm sure you are referring to, he was not the team rep of that team and as such the executive didn't feel it would be fair to him to hold him responsible for this incident.

Going forward I do have a proposal which I will present to the executive in the off season to correct these issues for upcoming seasons. Currently my time and energy is being spent preparing for the year end (prizes, banquet, banquet tickets, etc.) as well as trying to get the fall league up and running. But rest assured solving this issue on a go forward basis is definitely on my radar for the off season.

Thanks. I always enjoy reading your post (even if they are anonymous).

Scott
