mvp so far?

Thought we'd start up a nice little chat about who the MVP of the league is so far....

from the A division hands down it's a battle between my fell bullodgs, Krys "The scoring machine" Saunders and Dave "The Polish sensation" Zmozynski, who are currently neck and neck all the while racking up these points against fellow top tier A teams!

From the B Division, it's a no brainer, Brandon Clark from the Hounds is dominating the lower division.

Let's hear all y'all thoughts!

RE: mvp so far?

In the true sense of the term MVP I think Jordan Hischer needs to get some kudos as he has been by far and away the best player on the OTFL team. Ryan Henriques has also been extremely valuable to the OPC team. Also I think Dave Bye and Chad Mallen from the Steelers need to get some credit. You have to keep in mind the Bull Dogs have played 2 more games than the Steelers.

My vote would be Chad Mallen for "A" and Brandon Clark for "B".

RE: mvp so far?

The two best receivers in our league are Chad M. and Brandon P. Brandon being the best overall player. With this said, there are tons of other outstanding players as well. Unfortunately, the best player in the league doesn't always play on the best team or in the top tier.
Dave Bye is having an awesome year, but has so many weapons around him it's hard to pick him.

My vote goes to Rob Pacas. He instantly turns the Markham team into a team that can play with any team is our league on any given Sunday. No disrespect to the other B teams, but unless they lose it themselves, they are a lock for B and could beat half or more of the A teams right now. Their mix of young and vets is scary. Once the kids on the team get a couple more years under their belt, they will be an excellent team.

RE: mvp so far?

Although with your (Kitty Litter) assessment that Rob Pacas has turned the Mustangs into legit contenders for the B title this year, and that he's having a great season, I don't think you can say he's the MVP of the league.

Without question he's the MVP of his team and possibly his division, but by your rationale Dave Bye should have been the MVP of the league last year. Dave led a team with 1/4 of the athletes that Rob has, to the C division Championship. He took a team, that everyone predicted would finnish last, all the way to finals. MVP worthy for sure, but against the best competition, hardly.

To be the MVP of an entire league, not only do you have to be the best performing player on your team, the performance needs to be measured against other top performers and performances over that entire year.

I agree that Brandon is the best player around, but that does not make him the MVP this year, or any year, by default. Currently his team is in 3rd, so until they start rallying around him, or he elevates their play, and possibly wins the championship, he can't really be considered at this point vs. other performances turned in by some of the Steelers and Dogs.

With 2 games in hand, the obvious front runners have to be Dave and Chad, with Spack, and his two receivers close behind. If all stays the same and these two teams square off in the final, the League MVP will likely, and should come from the winning team.

Stay tuned.

RE: mvp so far?

dave bye is a great candidate for mvp. chad is good too. come to think of it, the majority of the steelers are great players. its amazing what players will come to play for a complete stranger, when u offer free league fees, free beer, free food, 2 free t-shirts, a duffle bag. i heard if u are good enough youll be offered gas money and a pair of cleats too.
lets stop pretending here than any other guy in this league is even close to the caliber of brandon pottle. open your eyes and see what he does each and every play.

RE: mvp so far?

wow... the steelers got all that?

thats an amazing team rep to get all that for their players... good on you Al...

after twenty+ years in the league, i am genuinely proud that you landed you and your teammates the amazing sponsorship that you did... just goes to show all the other haters that, if you hustle or have the right connections, you can offer all that to your players too...

i cant think of any team more deserving - considering they had to get a whole new identity... said it in my first (full) week picks:

"I love the story of the Steelers... it's so Hollywood drama... "from the ashes of a great fire, rose the champion Steelers"... would make for an excellent movie.... "

damn. effing. rights. id buy a ticket... or maybe find someone to sponsor me and buy my ticket for me... ;)

RE: mvp so far?

Key, you might want to rethink your title, "from the ashes rose the runner-up Steelers," as obviously the Bulldogs are takin home the trophy!!
