RE: Todays' scores

Yes today unfortunatley the Football Gods were not looking upon the OTFL Beezzz. Right from the get go the Beezz won the toss and decided to take ball second half. So the Buckeyes received marched down scored and converted. Beezz then came out first pass incomplete then second down, snap went over my head for a 2 point convert, OUCH ! Thanks Tim.

As a result Beezz now needed to kick to Bucks which then resulted in a return from TJ for 6.

All in all the score was 24-0 when it should of been a much smaller defecit (sp) but overall Buzz is very proud of his NEW Beezzz Team as they are 1-1 going into week 3 and knows the crew that he has will take a couple of weeks to develop considering we played a very well established squad who has already have a couple of tourneys and games under their belt.

All in all WE the Beezzz are looking forward to the rest of the OTFL tour..

RE: Todays' scores

Lancers aren't the only team with speed. Raiders have more than a few burners on that team...if only they could catch the ball...

RE: Todays' scores

The Lancers have speed? What's the definition of 'speed'? A couple guys that didn't get overthrown on a fly pattern?

Ruff Riders beat the Rogues by 6, this ruff rider team will probably go down as the the best team ever to play in the Oshawa league period, watch out

Ruff riders the best team ever? You must be fairly new to the league...do you not remember a certain team called the maraduers???????????

RE: Todays' scores

Yeah, Pretty much wasting time debating best team ever proclamations.

I think the person who said that about the Ruff Riders was just trying to get people going.

Bottom line is, that with only 6 players (picked one guy up from a lower level team after the 4th drive to make 7, and missing at least 5 of thier top players, the Riders were able to stay and beat the best team in the league.

That said, the Rouges were missing at least 3 of thier top guys but not Brandon. Either way, the gap has been closed and their could be a new sherif in town...when he decides to show up. Should not be a big problem now that Ajax is done.

RE: Todays' scores

Rogues are a bunch of has beens, ruff riders bring young, new blood to the oshawa league along with one of the best QBs to ever plsy in Oshawa, if not the best. There is not a new sheriff in town, we have a new mayor that will easily lead his team a 2010 championship.
Senior Pottle is old fat and being out of the loop so long he is just a faded memory of what he use to be. So enjoy history guys Ruff riders best team ever, hand down

RE: Todays' scores

Whoa, slow down on the personal attacks bro.

I played in that game on Sunday, and "Senior" Pottle looked and threw well.

Dave Bye is an established QB, and in my opinion a very accomplished one who is capable of leading our team to a Championship in Oshawa. At the same time "Senior" Pottle has also demonstrated his ability to lead a team to a win in this league, as recently as last year.

So calling him out as "washed up" may be a little premature. We're a long way from the end of the line here, but I agree with "Realist", our team can run with both of the other top two teams in this league. We've struggled with our roster over the first two weeks, but hopefully that is behind us now that Bill Moore's league is over.

Sure, sure, other teams have players there too...but our roster is quite small and half of the guys are playing there.

Looking forward to the summer.

RE: Todays' scores

WoW.... Taking nothing away from the Riders/Xmen team, I remember the Rouges ultimately beating them in the Oshawa tourney final to WIN the tournament.

True the Riders have a good talented young team, and true their QB can get it done... However, look people... The champ is the champ until he/they are defeated and it is proven otherwise. Until the end of the season this season, the Rouges are still the league champs and YOU HAVE TO RESPECT THAT!

I remember when I started in this league, coming from further west then Oshawa I truly thought that even the best teams in this slow Sunday touch league could not play with me on their best day..... BOY, WAS I WRONG. To anyone coming to play out here from the west, Understand that there are some very unassuming guys out here that can just plain ball, and just when you think you have a step on them on offense, they are there to swat or pick a pass. Just when you think you have a ball intercepted, it sails over your head into the arms of your opponent for a score. When you think you have some of these teams defeated or blown out near the end of a game, they keep coming, and coming, and coming and the next thing you know, you have lost the game.

The riders are a great young team, but don't crown them season champs just yet, the season is long and there a few good squads that will make a serious run before all is said and done! Weather or not the Rouges will repeat as champs remains to be seen, but one way or another they will be tough to beat come playoff time, I mean come on guys.... They are the Champs, and that is that.

RE: Todays' scores

Correct me if I am wrong but didn't the Ruff Ryders get slapped by the Buckeyes last week and they beat the Rogues who are notorious for starting off slow every season, but yet some people are putting the belt around the Ruff Ryders waist. Let's not get crazy so early in the season because when the playoffs start I hope all the teams can backup what they say on the field.

Book It!

RE: Todays' scores

WOW! We sure have some enormous egos around this year. These guys might be in for a surprise, cause egos often hurt their team. Chemistry is big gentlemen. I think that will win out at the end of the season. But who knows, Just a thought.

RE: Todays' scores

The Ruff Riders/Xmen are a decent football team. They'll beat some good teams along the way but ultimately will fail to win anything significant. Too bad Oshawa doesn't have a CC title for them to win.

RE: Todays' scores

All you Ruff Ryders out there who are pulling om your own chain while posting under unassuming names take note.

The last time Dave Bye played in the league was with the (now defunct)Bucs which like your current team was full of guys just like yourself always chirping. Where were you guys last week when as mentioned you were being bi*** slapped by the Buckeyes? I thought so, part time message board users who only take their hands out of their pants when they win.

Oh, BTW, that same chirpy Bucs team mentioned above failed to finish the season for reasons which force the league executives to toss them out.

My point is playing on a Bye team comes with alot of uncertainty. As a player you may become expendable at any time as his past history has shown. Team turmoil has been prevelant with every team he has been a part of so enjoy the party now while you are still a guest.

Good luck Boys

RE: Todays' scores

I?ll post under my real name without hesitation. First of all you?re all in need of a history lesson. Dave Bye and his Bucs, myself included, won this league 4 years ago. And at that time, everyone on this board was saying the same things about our chances. But, we proved everyone wrong and Bitch Slapped Spack and his Buckeyes in the finals. That was my first and only season in Oshawa.

Going into my second season, like this year, we were having personal issues in terms of attendance. I came to two games, and decided that with the uncertainty around who was coming, and no answers in sight, it was not worth the drive for the quality of play (Oshawa is a much deeper league today). But, it should be noted that there were no player personnel issues with Dave Bye. In fact the team got kicked out for non-payment which Dave had nothing to do with.

Everyone on this team is here because we want to be. We all know Dave, and he knows us and what we all bring to the table. And when our full roster emerges, hopefully by the playoff?s, we?ll do just fine.

No one is saying we?re going to win, the games need to played, but we know we have a team and the players to beat anyone. You may not like Dave, and his team might have been kicked out 3 years ago, but Dave has proven he can win here or pretty much in any other league. Because trust me, he?s played in every one, an some you?ve never heard of.

As for the loss in week 1 to the Buckeyes, congrats, they deserve it. We?ll play again; something tells me the Rouges are saying the same thing.

RE: Todays' scores

Buckeyes have only been around since '08, so I doubt you bitch slapped them 5 years ago. Just sayin'.

As for the early season chirpin' ... this is shaping up to be a fun year, isn't it? The bottom line is that there are 5 teams that have a very realistic chance at the championship --teams that are all capable of beating each other -- and a couple of underdogs might rise up yet.

Good to see some men standing up behind what they say ... everyone likes a target!

RE: Todays' scores

Jeff, "No one says were going to win" but guys are hitting up the board talkin' best team ever (that's some funny sh!t/jk right?!) and callin' out teams (i.e Rogues)as "has beens". I may be wrong but sounds like new, young trash talkin' players in the league....I'm sure Bye will talk to the crew and try to distiguish this fire.

RE: Todays' scores

To be honest, I'm still trying to figure out who the "new young players" are on our team. The only thing that brought our average age under 35 on Sunday was the 7th man we picked up from sideline.

As for the guys talking up our team, not sure who they would be and highly doubt they are even our team given they way they make personal attacks on other players.

TJ, you're right I stand corrected, it was the Hawks, either way they got Bitch Slapped. ;)

RE: Todays' scores

Oh poor young TJ! There have been several Bucs teams in the past. The Bucs of old were much more classy than the one that Bye played for.

Jeff ..... you are right .... Bye is a very good QB who I have also played for with the Xmen. (Canadian Champs)

But trust me when I say, team unity is a huge thing, chemistry along with talent wins.

Everyone, just shut up and play football!

LOL! This is getting fun again .... oh the JUICE!

RE: Todays' scores

Now I know who you are.

I Iove you man, we won a Nationals together, and I accidently crushed your face, for which I was constantly worried your wife was going to show up and break my knee caps with her baton.

But trust you about what it takes to Win? Dave, and the collection of players we've put together all have experience in winning titles. Not only that we have experience playing together before this league. Unlike you, this is not the only league we play in, and football in Toronto, goes all year round.

Chemistry is not our achilles heel, it appears to be attendance.....or Brandon, which ever comes first. It used to be you Travis, but now you're too old :)
