Week 6 Report

Week 6 at Maxwell Heights was an intriguing one with three stellar games and two teams playing double headers. The first game saw a B division playoff hopeful taking on a proven B division team, the second game was between the same proven B division team and the best in the A division, and the final game was between the same A division team and a struggling B division team.

Hawks vs. Rivals

The early game was between two streaking squads, where the Hawks saw their first real test of the season against the Rivals. With myself taking the Hawks in the weekly picks contest I was extremely disappointed to find out they were crushed by the Rivals. Steve Gagnon was the lone bright spot for the Hawks as he recorded 2 TDs on the ground and one through the air. As for the Rivals, their offense was clicking on all cylinders led by QB Stu McNeil. Stu had 4 TD passes, Josh Devine had 16 points and 2 INTs, and Marlon Wong had 12 points and a pair of sacks.

Final Score: Rivals 38 Hawks 18
MVP: Stu McNeil

Rogues vs. Rivals

The Rivals would have been in tough against the Rogues on a good day, and the fact that they got them on the back half of a double header made it that much worse. This game was a blowout from start to finish with the Rogues taking it by 6 scores. Brandon Pottle continued his dominance over the rest of the league, finishing the game with 6 TDs. Andrew Brimpong had 18 points which vaulted him into second for league scoring. The only source of offense for the Rivals was Stu McNeil who finished the game with a pick and a TD.

Final Score: Rogues 44 Rivals 8
MVP: Brandon Pottle

Rogues vs. Raiders

On the backend of a double header, the Rogues once again shone on both sides of the football. The Rogues managed to hold a normally explosive Raiders offense to a measly 0 points. Aaron Racioppa for the Rogues was able to lead his team to victory as he had a TD, an extra point conversion, and a sack. Brandon Pottle recorded 2 TD passes, 2 TDs, and 2 picks. These INTs went to Adolph William and Cole Lafoy. The Raiders look to bounce back in two weeks when they take on the Sharks in B division competition.

Final Score: Rogues 28 Raiders 0
MVP: Aaron Racioppa
