Week 3 Picks

Well, there were a few surprises last week. Some bigger than others. We all knew the Rivals v OPC game would be a toss-up and it turned out to be just that with the Rivals coming out on top. The Hawks didn't seem to have too much trouble taking care of the Sharks. The biggest surprise, in my opinion, is the tie between the Raiders and Manimals. The Manimals have made tremendous strides since joining the league and now have everyone's attention. Good for you guys. Let's see how we fare in what looks to be a fairly short week.

Hawks v Atlas:
The Hawks are hot right now. They are playing out of their mind and everyone is starting to take notice. Atlas is still working through their troubles and just don't have nearly what it takes to take on this team right now.

HAWKS

Sharks v Untouchables
The Sharks looked to have the makings of a good run in the B division. I'm not sure if that's more of a testament to the talent of the Hawks or the deficiencies on the Sharks squad. That being said, I won't let one down week derail my expectations for this team. The Untouchables put up a good fight against a fairly good ASU team last week. I expect them to extend their wins to this week.

UNTOUCHABLES

Thundercats v Manimals
The Cats had their statement game as I expected last week. They looked fairly organized compared to the week prior and I'm looking forward to seeing what this team can do. The Manimals have performed well these last two weeks and have warranted a look. I expect this to be the game of the week with two teams battling it out to the final whistle. I give the slight edge to the Cats based on talent at this time.

THUNDERCATS

Raiders v OPC
Were this last week, I would have expected this would be a fairly good game to watch. At this point, I'm not sure what to expect from a Raiders squad that has dropped two straight. All i know is that OPC will never go down without a fight and always brings their A game. I don't think the Raiders will be able to get it together in time to pull themselves out of this slump.

RE: Week 3 Picks

Not a great start last week for yours truly going a very pedestrian 4-2-1 (3-0-1 in weekly picks) last week. Luckily with the shortened tournament weekend this week it should definitely be a perfect week.

Hawks v. Atlas

Atlas does catch a bit of a break this week taking on a Hawks team that is missing a couple key players to the TFONT tournament including their new shiny QB. Will the Tuna have it in him to lead the depleted Hawks over their rookie opponents. I say yes. Give me the Hawks.

Sharks v. Untouchables

Both of these teams are looking for their first win of the year with both team suffering losses to ASU. And while the Untouchables were able to keep their game against ASU a bit closer than the Sharks were, ASU was also on the backend of a double header in their game against the Untouchables and Dave Z was hurting. This will be the game of the week and I like the Sharks to win it by less than 6.

Thundercats v. Manimals

Both teams have beat up on the new team, Atlas, so far this season with Thundercats placing the slightly more severe beating, despite the fact that the Manimals played them in their first ever OTFL game. In their other games the Thundercats lost to a strong Hawks team while the Manimals tied a less strong Raiders team. This game will come down to whether the Manimals can contain the Thundercats QB(s) and force them to throw. If they can't it's going to be a long tiring day chasing the cats QB(s) all over the field. I don't think they can so give me the Cats.

Raiders v. OPC

OPC can't be too happy about starting the season 0-2 and losing the 2015 B championship rematch by two scores. I'm sure some of that was them being tired out a bit after their hard fought battle against the Rogues in the first game (I did try to warn them in my write up last week) and part of that is an improved Rivals team. Either way the Raiders are not as good as the Rivals and OPC will be fresh this week. Give me OPC to get their first win in this battle of winless teams.

Will there you have it. The correct week 3 picks.

RE: Week 3 Picks

Week 3 ,Oshawa Touch Football
Already we have surprises
The Hawks and Manimals are off to good starts and are beginning to gather the attention of the prognosticators
Sharks and Raiders are stumbling out of the gate

Hawks vs Atlas
Lucky draw for the Hawks, Absent QB, see new team Atlas. It is still going to be too tough for Atlas at this time.
Hawks by 21

Sharks vs Untouchables
I am rapidly losing confidence in the Sharks. They just don't seem to have the offence going yet. Untouchables have too much to keep their scoring low.
Untouchables by 14

Thundercats vs Manimals
If the rosters are complete with the key players, this will be the game of this shortened week. The Cats have shown they have some offence ,but a little early to call it inconsistent. Manimals defence, at an early look, may be the game changer
Manimals by 1

Raiders vs OPC
Tough start for both teams . Raiders 0-1-1, OPC 0-2-0. I believe the Raiders are a better team their start has shown, and OPC had a tough double header that started with the Rogues. Another very good game
OPC by 7

Good luck to all, have agreat day

RE: Week 3 Picks

Since we are a new team we dont know much of the other team in the league other than two of the teams in our division, the manimals and thundercats.

Atlas win over Hawks

Untouchables win over Sharks

Since we have played both manimals and thundercats we know who we feel were more of a challenge playing. Thundercats is erratic but have good athletes and a balanced team. The qb has great scrambling ability which can be tough to stop. Thundercats win over manimals.

OPC wins over Raiders

There you have it some guessing was involved, but feel confident in two of our choices.

RE: Week 3 Picks

Hello OTFL,

Time to pick the winners of week 3.

Hawks vs Atlas

Well look who's making the Captain look like a jack ass! It's the motha F'n Hawks. Well done boys. This should be routine after what's happened the last couple of weeks. Atlas is learning and will make too many mistakes.

Hawks win

Sharks vs Untouchables

Very surprised about last weeks Sharks result. This isn't a must win because the season is long but it's a very needed. Untouchables can't come into this game thinking it's gonna be easy. Every weeks a new season.

Untouchables win

Thundercats vs Manimals

Last year I would have picked the Cats hands down. This year I'm not. The Manimals have been impressive thus far and if they pull this off, well I'm going to have to say that they are proving they belong. Cats need to get consistent to get better. They know they should win this game, so losing would be a morale breaker.

Cats win (not hands down but a squeaker).

OPC vs Raiders

Both teams looking for their first win of the year. The Raiders are surely disappointed with last weeks result and will want to show their worth this week. OPC showed some fight last week in game 1 but we're sluggish in game 2. This week things will go much smoother.

OPC win

And that's that.

RE: Week 3 Picks

Hawks vs Atlas

Hawks win by 4 scores, Atlas is developing but still very young and Atlas hard a hard time stopping Thundercats qb running around same story in this game

Sharks vs Untouchables

Untouchables win by 2 scores ... know nothing about these teams

Thundercats vs Manimals

Cats win , manimals will have a hard time stopping that mobile qb they have this year

OPC vs Raiders

OPC wins by 3 scores just because i love apple juice

And that's that.

RE: Week 3 Picks

So I was 4-2-1 on my message board picks, but a solid 4 for 4 in the picks contest... What whatttttt.... (No picks contest this week because it's a tournament weekend).

So Hawks v atlas...

Hawks... BUT?. I am excited to be able to see atlas in action!! At least that way I can have some more content in my picks for or against them.. ;) usually what happens when I pick the Hawks to win is that they do the extreme opposite of that.... And, since Scott is back to throwing..... Wellllllllllll.................. ;) ain't enough Advil in the world to get a Hawks domination... So a subtle win for the Hawks. ... Maybe?

Untouchables v sharks...
Eff sakes sharks... I picked you last week in my msg board picks, and you broke my heart... But untouchables also lost, albeit against ASU.... So I will take untouchables on this game.... With a single emo tear streaming my cheek the whole game.

Cats v manimals..
Well...... After last week's strong representation, the manimals have turned a lot of heads and finally got put on the 'to be taken seriously' list..... But I love the cats...!!! And once they get clicking, will take this win easy.... But until then... Well.... Until then I will still pick the cats to win, but just won't be too shocked if they don't... Come on baby bro, make sure you eat your Wheaties tomorrow morning and make the family proud!!!! (You're the last hope)

Opc v raiders
Such a great day of games.... Ending with the cherry on top.... Opc... Opc... Opc....... Mind you, the rivals beat you last week....?? Wtf cocks.... You better have some good excuses to tell me.... Opc.. Opc.. Opc... I mean..... It's kinda in your favor that I naturally bleed red..........
