What's the BUZZZZ in the OTFL

Good Day to all my fellow OTFL Ballers, Super Fans and of course John Antony ;)(BTW you were excellent in “Two for the Money $”)

As promised here I am better late than never posting the highlights from last Sundays Central High Battles.

With 5 weeks of ball behind us and almost reaching the half way mark of the season, all Teams are fighting till the end.

We also have a TFont Tourney in the mix this weekend BUT the Action still continues in the Shwa, even though there will be few players missing from their squads due to the tourney in Ottawa, Good Luck to those Ballers in competition.

Quickly though We have Rogues Andrew Brimpong way, way ahead of the race in the Points column @ 80pts, with 41 points behind him younger Pottle (Drew) @ 39pts. Rogues also are on a Rabid Tear as they sit nicely @ 6-0, with the Sharks with an impressive record of 4-1, Bulldogs and Buckeyes follow in a tight race and everyone else to follow. We have a tight sack fest with OPC Daniel Oliveira and Brew Crew’s Marvin Olivia with 7 sacks each.

So @ Central, the weather conditions were wet to start and hot in the end and so was the Action, so let’s GO!!!!!

First battle of the day saw the OPC Cocks vs the Buckeyes. As mentioned this first game was an off and on wet affair as the rain made it slick as each Team took their turns. Buckeyes and OPC both had very slow starts to get things going but eventually got things off the ground. Defensively Buckeyes Chris Peirre had a total of 3 interceptions to allow his squad have 5 scores on the day. To back OPC though they had one of their better ballers stepping up and playing QB as their starter was away. Ryan Henriques had 2 Interceptions as well as Stewart Dionne with 1 to help gain some offensive scores, but unfortunately the squad fell short on any scoring power.
End result Buckeyes took this one 32 -0.
O MVP for the Buckeyes was Shane Ruest and OPC’s Def MVP was Daniel Oliveira, congrats to both.

Second battle we had the Raiders vs. the Cowboys and this was a neck to neck battle as both squads fought on “O” to score, in this tight affair the Cowboys player Arlond Lett was the overall star of the day (look out Andrew BP) as Arlnad put up 19 points along with 3 interceptions.. But the Raiders in classic old school fashion (and I didn’t mean old re: Al P) but they were able to finally get a converted TD. As mentioned as very tight battle till the end, score Cowboys 19 Raiders 7 and this being the Cowboys 1ST win of the year.
Raiders “O” MVP was Cole Lafoy and Cowboys “D” MVP was Arlond Lett.

Third show of the day has the Rogues playing 1 of their 2 double header games, first vs. the Markham Mustangs, who we saw the last time play in last year’s Playoff showdown. That game last year saw the two teams fight to the end with a knockdown to allow the Rogues go onto the finals. What would this 2014 regular season game bring to us on this Any Given Sunday?? Honestly with the Mustangs returning I was super excited to see the Mustangs back and fresh to play and see a repeat of last years game, but in this game we had the Rogues “GO ROGUE” on the Stangs. Rogues had 6 scorers’, with Aaron Racioppa and Drew Pottle both scoring double digits. Mustangs sadly couldn’t get anything going as they only had 1 score on the day by Ian Campell. Final score: Rogues 43 Mustangs 6 “O” MVP Aaron Racioppa and “D” MVP Edwin Lo

Fourth and Final chapter of games had the Rogues vs. the Hawks. Not too much again to report on other that the Rogues and btw without their starting QB Brandon Pottle missing, the Rogues went for “Rip” as they made no mistakes. 5 scorers for the Rogues and my overall MVP of the day @ Central (sorry again Andrew BP) goes out to Mike McNeill as he climbed out of his shell and had an amazing 3 interceptions and 1 for a score. Hawks though I know will bounce back this week as they have a double header and I’m confident they will get the 2 wins. “D” MVP Rogues Mike McNeill and Hawks “O” MVP Noah Tumin.

So here to wishing everyone good luck in Week # 6 as we have 7 matches on the go and lots of Double Headers for Squads Hawks, Mustangs & Manimals.

That’s it for now, John Anthony Who do you like this week??
