Posted By: John Anthony Posted On: Jun 16th, 2011 Views: 1875 | Week 2 Picks Well with two ties last week it was a tough week for picking games. On the remaining 7 games I went 5 for 7 which isn?t too shabby. I missed the upset of the week, severely underestimating the Buccaneers (or maybe overestimating OPC). But that?s enough living in the past; let?s move forward to this week?s games. CENTRAL: All Blacks v. Lancers The All Blacks cost me last week so for that reason I?m going to be praying that Jay is back for the Lancers and if that is the case give me the Lancers (who would be wise to key on Matt Chang all game) to pull out a close one here. This will easily be the game of the week. All Blacks v. Bulldogs The All Blacks will finally put up their first ?W? of the season with a fairly easy win over the Bulldogs, who nearly took advantage of the Lancers playing without Jay last week to cost JA his house. Rogues v. Bulldogs Rogues looked really good last week with a tie against the Sun Devils and a win over the Buckeyes. I can definitely see the Rogues playing in the ?A? championship game at the end of the season. I see the Bulldogs also playing for a championship at the end of the season unfortunately for them I see it being the ?C? championship. Take the Rogues to win this one easy starting their season undefeated after three games. Bulldogs will start the season 0 ? 3 but they are dominating the message board banter so I love ?em. EASTDALE: Buckeyes v. Raiders The Raiders were able to win last week even without Lorin being at the game. Was this a sign of how good the Raiders are or how bad the Hounds are? That remains to be seems but I think the answer is more likely the latter. The Raiders have not beaten an ?A? team since the OTFL went to calibre based divisions and I don?t see that changing this week. Look for the Buckeyes to win this game. Sun Devils v. Raiders See above. As I said I don?t see that changing this week. Give me the Sun Devils. Sun Devils v. Hounds Well the Hounds couldn?t beat the Raiders without their starting QB and the Raiders won?t be able to the Sun Devils with their starting QB. What does that tell you? This game is an easy one to pick. Sun Devils win big. DONEVAN: Longhorns v. Turtles Next to the All Blacks/Lancers game this is the game of the week. Both teams are coming off big losses to much better teams last week. I see this game being a close low scoring battle with the experience of the Longhorns making the difference and giving them a close win over the Turtles. Longhorns v. Buccaneers Well I was going to say that this is a tough schedule for the Longhorns as playing the Buccaneers rested would be tough enough let alone playing them in the second game of a double header. Then after thinking about it a little more I thought, really the Longhorns have no chance against the Buccaneers anyways so this scheduling probably works out for the best. Hawks v. OPC I was tempted to take OPC in another upset but you know the saying ?fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me?, well the saying applies here perfectly. For that reason OPC will have to show me something before I?m willing to pick them in an upset again. Give me the Hawks in this one. Well there you have it. I?m definitely hoping for a better week this week than last. As always let hear your thoughts. JA |
Posted By: Bulldog 4 Life Posted On: Jun 16th, 2011 Views: 1872 | RE: Week 2 Picks Well I gotta tell you that the Bulldogs were in a giving mood last week as we gave the game to the Lancers while thoroughly outplaying them the whole game. Our Christmas season is over, glad we got it out of the way early. All business for the rest of the year. Tough two games this week but call it a hunch, call it arrogance, call it whatever you will, the Bulldogs will take down the All Blacks and then go toe to toe with the Rogues. Bulldogs will be playing with a lot of fire and will be hungry! |

Posted By: Bulldog 4 Life Posted On: Jun 17th, 2011 Views: 1789 | RE: Week 2 Picks Lol, hey like I said, call it whatever you will but I stand behind my team. We'll go toe to toe with anyone! |
Posted By: Raider 1 Posted On: Jun 17th, 2011 Views: 1765 | RE: Week 2 Picks Well JA, I agree on all your picks. Though picking the Raiders too lose is not a good choice. I see you copied all of my picks except the Raiders to win. Just to let you know the Raiders lost to the Sun Devils and the Buckeye were very close. If I remember correctly we are talking a couple of points in each game. This could be the upset of the week. Now you need to put a points spread in their if you really want to make some picks. |
Posted By: JA Posted On: Jun 18th, 2011 Views: 1716 | RE: Week 2 Picks I'm always down for playing the point spread game. Throw some spreads at me and I'll give you the winners. I don't make the spreads though. JA |
