| Posted By: OTFL Executive Posted On: Apr 22nd, 2010 Views: 1862 | 2010 OTFL Pre-Season Kick Off Tournament The tournament will be held on Saturday, June 5th, 2010 at Ritson Fields in Oshawa (On Ritson Rd, just north of Taunton). The entry fee for the tournament will be $250/team, which will guarantee your team 3 games. We will be doing 2 divisions (A and B). Both divisions will use standard Touch Football Ontario Rules. We will be accepting 6 teams in each division on a first come first serve basis. The prize money will be as follows: A Division -> $500 B Divisoin -> $300 You are welcome to make a payment (either via email transfer, cash or cheque) to secure your spot. This is a great chance to get some work in before the season starts and for any new teams it will be an excellent oppurtunity to learn more about the game before the season starts. Posted On: Apr 22nd, 2010 Views: 1843 | RE: 2010 OTFL Pre-Season Kick Off Tournament Just curious are teams allowed to ultimately be stacked to the gills or are the teams suppose to be a mixture of players that are A,B and C together. Cause if we have stacked squads that kind of takes the fun out of playing especially for a one day tourney. The bottom line should be that everyone should have fun and be able to compete, but Teams don't have fun when its all ONE sided. We belive that there should be a balance of players on each Team that enters, suggesting if you have a 12 player roster your only allowed 3 X A players, 6 X B players and 3 X C players. Any thoughts? Curious? |

I think the prize money, and guys that just want to compete against worthy opponents will "SELF" adjust the squads. Plus there are only 12 teams that can enter, so I don't imagine getting any AA teams from Toronto coming to beat up on any C teams from buckhorn anyway! It will be all good and everyone will have fun win or lose... Just play and don't worry about the teams stacking up evenly! Just my opinion.. |

From what I can tell this is an "Open money tournament". That means any team, or collections of players from across the GTA can play. CURIOUS, pack up your fair balance methodology and save it for the school grounds, we're playing for money here. As the demand for the tournament entry grows, there might someday be a DD division where you can play, otherwise sit down and keep the water coming. |
