Does anyone (John Anthony..TJ) gives a team by team ranking and review just for some light reading?

RE: Review

I can't, I don't get to watch enough of the games to really get an idea of how the other teams are playing. I can only say that the Buckeyes are somewhere between good and very good, depending on the personnel we get out. Same can be said of the Rogues, Renegades, and All Blacks.

The Hounds and Lancers are both starting to put some pieces together and have played us very tough in our games against them.

We still haven't played the Crew or Hosers yet, so can't really say there, either.

The biggest thing with a rush league is having a QB who has a real rapport with some of his receivers, and that's the biggest difference between the tiers in Oshawa. A little bit of play-calling, and a little bit of trust/communication between players. QBs have to use the strengths of their players, and then put them in good situations to succeed.

In all, though, it's good to see things bunching up talent wise, and avoiding too many thrashings. Both the A and the B playoffs should be very interesting, with any team that qualifies capable of pulling "an upset" over a higher ranked team.

RE: Review

As someone that has seen and played vs. practically every team in this league, her is my honest opinion:

Tier 1
Rogues--If they get all their players playoff eligible with 5 games played, they will win this thing easily.

Renegades, All Blacks and Buckeyes--all equally matched teams in my opinion.

Buckeyes play good team defence and Raf is coming along at QB. TJ may be the best receiver in the league.

All Blacks--when Rich is on, is as good as anyone. A healthy Tony Stewart makes them a very food team.

Renegades have a few good players and Spack is always good. Really should stop throwing that girls ball though.

Tier 2
Hounds with new QB are probably the best of the bunch becasue of the QB
Lancers have good speed, strong armed QB and will challenge.
Raiders lack speed, but can compete with any tier 2 team.
Hawks have a decent defensive team but not much offence
Hosers have good athletes but lack football experience
Crew--got to love the effort, but the talent just is not there.

Just my opinion.

RE: Review

No it doesn't. As someone has said in an earlier submission, Whitby and Oshawa leagues are not comparable.

Just my opinion.

RE: Review

Noah threw for the Hosers this week and Che threw for the All Blacks. All Blacks 26 - Hosers 6. Neither team had any subs either. Noon game, playing both ways, both teams lucky to finish without collapsing.

RE: Review

noah never played a straight rush before. itll take time to adjust. hes great when he has time to throw, but he will get better. not fair to compare all blacks vs hosers either. all blacks has much better and experienced squad. but guiddy up is right, just because noah is successful in whitby, doesnt mean he will be in oshawa.

RE: Review

Noah threw for the Hosers last week against the Raiders in a 7-6 loss in which Hosers only points came on an interception return for a TD. He definitely struggled.

RE: Review

Well Ranking teams isn't really my thing but I will give it a shot. As I see it there are clearly 4 "A" teams (Buckeyes, All Blacks, Rogues and Renegades) and 6 "B" teams (Crew, Hounds, Hawks, Raiders, Hosers and Lancers)

For the "A" I'd rank it as:

Rogues -> Seem to be the clear front runner assuming they have a full squad out.

All Blacks -> Looked dominant to start the season but have looked beatable lately. I still say they are the clear number 2 team.

Renegades -> Spack is really starting to gel with his new team. I wouldn't be surprised to see Spackman in the "A" finals yet again this year.

Buckeyes -> Rafuse has proved himself to be a decent QB but I'm not sure once playoffs roll around that he will be able to hang with the other "A" quarterbacks. If the Buckeyes are going to do anything in the playoffs their defence better bring their A+ game.

"B" division

Hounds -> After last weekend I don't think there is any question that the Hounds are the front runners in this Division. New QB looks good.

Lancers -> This hot and cold team looks great one game and terrible the next. But they have so much team speed that I can see them turning a few heads in the playoffs.

Hawks -> They might be a little high but when their defence is on it's game they can definitely play with the top teams in the "B" division.

Raiders -> Could easily be above the Hawks. Their rough start might still be on my mind making me rank them a little lower then they are currently playing.

Hosers -> Great group of Athletes who will definitely compete in the playoffs and if they get some bounces could be right in the thick of things come October 18th.

Crew -> Really hoping this team will pull a the same trick the Cobras pulled a few years back and take the playoffs by storm but I don't think it is going to happen.

THere you go guys.

Let me know your thoughts.

JA

RE: Review

Good assessments JA. We're pretty much on the same page with the exception being the Hawks and Raiders flipped in the B group.

RE: Review

Hey JA, I think you are pretty much bang on except I will rank the Renegades as number 2 and All Blacks as 3 in the A...

The final should be the Rogues and the Renegades..
