Week 7 Report

Since half of the league was off in Week 7, Maxwell Heights hosted the four games on the schedule. The first game of the day was a rematch between the bottom of the C division and the top of the C division, the second game of the day was the first matchup between two B division teams, and the third and fourth games of the day featured the Untouchables in a double header against two C division teams.

Atlas vs. Hawks

The opening game of the day was a rematch between the bottom of the C division and the top of the C division. In the first game of this matchup, on June 26, the Hawks barely squeaked out the win over Atlas as the final score was 7-6. With Steve Gagnon back throwing for the Hawks in Week 7 many were expecting the Hawks to take this game over Atlas by a wider margin. Atlas scored the same amount of points as they did in the previous game against the Hawks. Atlas' QB Michael Nicolaou threw his lone TD to Christian Raposo who also recorded an interception. On the other hand, the Hawks offence scored 34 points as Steve Gagnon threw 4 TD passes and ran one in. The TD passes were caught by Jeff Hernandez, Matt Siekowski, Richard Lowns, and Tim McCaskie.

Final Score: Hawks 34 Atlas 6
MVP: Steve Gagnon

Sharks vs. Raiders

The first game between these two B division teams featured one of the best individual performances of this young season. The Sharks Brandon Clark put the team on his back as he had 3 TDs, a convert, and 3 INTs to round out an all-star worthy performance. Aaron Johnson also had an interception for the Sharks to bring their total to 4 INTs on the day. The Sharks QB Scott Bird threw 3 TDs and 3 INTs. These interceptions went to Cole Lafoy, Dave St. Louis, and Sam Schumm of the Raiders. The Raiders struggling offence only mustered up a single point on this day which was credited to Che Lafoy.

Final Score: Sharks 22 Raider 1
MVP: Brandon Clark

Untouchables vs. Thundercats

The third game of the day was the first leg of a double header for the Untouchables who took on a struggling Thundercats squad. The Thundercats flipped the script on the opening drive of the game as they scored a quick touchdown thrown by QB Keitel Burry and caught by Jamie Whitter. Reese Harrison caught the 1-point convert attempt afterwards and the Cats led 7-0 early. The Untouchables weathered the early storm and were able to score two unanswered TDs. These TDs were thrown by QB Jelani Adams and were caught by Nkosi Adams and Ryan Phillips. With one minute left, and the Untouchables at their 40 yard line, going for it on third down, the Thundercats got to Jelani Adams and sacked him (OR SO THEY THOUGHT)... Somehow, someway, this call was overturned to a non-sack and a completion (DON'T ASK ME) for the Untouchables which iced the game. We will blame the poor officiating on OTFL CEO Scott who admirably stepped in to ref.

Final Score: Untouchables 16 Thundercats 9
MVP: Gary Humber

Untouchables vs. Manimals

The fourth and final game of the day saw the Untouchables in the second leg of their double header taking on the Manimals. In order to defeat the Manimals on the backend of a double header, the Untouchables needed someone to step up and have a big game for them, and that's exactly what happened. Andrew Williams for the Untouchables had 2 TDs and 2 INTs to provide the spark his team needed. Jelani Adams threw 3 TDs on the day, which went to Andrew Williams, Jermaine James, and Ryan Phillips. As for the Manimals, they recorded 13 points, 7 for Justin Glover (OTFLs fastest man, will he defend his title at this years All-Star Game festivities?), and 6 to Chad Seymour. The TD passes were thrown by Nick Ferris and Conner Alexander.

Final Score: Untouchables 28 Manimals 13
MVP: Andrew Williams
